There are several aspects to yoga, and yoga poses for beginners is only one of them. You can also learn about Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi. These are the 'elements' of yoga, and you will need to know about each of them to experience the full benefits of yoga. Yoga is also called a science or technology of liberation. This is because, unlike purely theoretical philosophies, yoga seeks to provide the student with a practical path (or indeed many possible paths) towards the common goal of liberation.</P><P class='Asana'>The central aim of all the yogic practices is Purification (shaucha), and it is the first principle of self-discipline (niyama) in Patanjali s eight-limbed approach. The yogis have discovered that impurities in our internal body adversely affect our state of mind, and prevent the attainment of real wisdom and spiritual liberation. Because of its emphasis on proper posture, yoga can help reverse abnormal curves in the spine, correcting both the  hunchback curve that occurs in postural kyphosis and the  swayback curve that occurs in postural lordosis (An abnormal inward (forward) curvature of the vertebral column).</P><P class='Asana'>Yoga and meditation are effective for reducing blood pressure, rhythm, and increase the heart s stroke volume. Yoga, in short, is good for lower the pulse rate, improve the elasticity of the arteries and regulate your heart system.</P><P class='Asana'>It has become common knowledge that yoga is good for you. Yet there is very little awareness and understanding on exactly how yoga heals, even in the yoga and medical communities. The key is to understand the relationships between stress, yoga and disease.<BR>Yoga gives a number of benefits however, the benefits of yoga depends on how regularly you are practicing and also how you are practicing.
